Can’t Edit Signed & Saved PDF Form

When you sign a PDF form using Adobe Acrobat and save it, form fields might become locked. The next time you open the file, you may find that you can’t edit the text. To enable editing again, you’ll need to unlock each field separately by following the steps below:

  1. Open the PDF document in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Select “E-Sign” from the top menu.
  3. Select “Prepare Agreement”.
  1. Select the form field(s) to unlock.
  2. Open the Text Field Properties popup (double click the form field or right click and select “Properties”).
  3. Uncheck the “Locked” checkbox in the bottom left corner.
  4. Uncheck the “Read Only” checkbox.
